yesterday morning we were on the road by four thirty am, we'd be meeting a friend for some rock climbing. well, chuck and our good friend tony would be climbing, i would be happily watching from below.
did you see the horse? isn't he gorgeous? he appeared in between the craggy rocks, posed for a photo and was gone again. we were gone too by eight am, chuck had to get to work to his day job on the beach. (this photo is almost exactly 13 years old, we had just met, me and my lifeguard.sigh. see hannah hiding under the tower? she's so little!)
WOW! My son used to enjoy bouldering it really takes strength and dexterity. That looks like the Mormon Rocks?
ReplyDeleteYou two look the the perfect California beach couple!!
I love it!!

I can hike all day long, but cliff hanging, I'm chicken!

sigh...
ReplyDeletei havent done this in over 30 years. and my mountain was a wee mountain in colarado.
these photos are wonderful Lori♥
and i love the 13 yr old photo. doesnt time fly when we are having fun? : )
Hi Lori,
ReplyDeleteAmazing photos, you really captured the adventure! Love last photo, too!
I love your old picture, and I guess to keep that shape, your hero has to DO something, like running along beaches and climbing boulders like that before dawn, (what ELSE does he do?) but to me that feels pretty darn MAD! Look at his knee! What all can HAPPEN! I would stand there, looking up screaming, a great nuisance. I admire you for being so calm, Lori. But of course you can be PROUD!
ReplyDeleteLike he of you, sweets!
Wow! Looks fun! I climbed a mountain once, but no rock climbing, it looks much harder.
ReplyDeleteI love the horse and the photo of you and Chuck and Hannah. xoxo
more studly man pictures i see... and you are one gorgeous beach babe! cool shots lori!
ReplyDeleteyour lifeguard (how apt a title) is a true blue athlete and he is also a wonderful man. i am so glad to know how true this is.
ReplyDeletei don't know how this sport can be done without getting all kinds of scrapes. there is a little cut on chuck but it is so tiny.
your photos as as ever magnificent, lori. you show the height so well i almost fell off the couch :^)
i laughed at mim's comment since i was eating cupcakes with her :^)

I love how connected Chuck is with the outdoors. He's a natural! And I covet those red climbing shoes :)
ReplyDeleteThe horse made me laugh because it was so incongruous with the climbing photos! It was a welcome surprise, and yes, he's a beauty!
You and your lifeguard were destined to be at that spot thirteen years ago ;)
xo
