thank you so very much for the tea cozy love in my previous post :)
this week:
: : beginning knitting classes began, although for abby and amy above, it was their second time to come. wee six year old abby is the youngest person i've taught, and as proud as she is, i am prouder. today she completed her first garment, a scarf for her pig, wilbur (of charlotte's web) i let her choose a button from my jar for her scarf, i love how delighted she is, it fits! abby and her mama are part of a home school group that's learning to knit in my classes. if your reading this, happy happy almost seventh birthday abby. see you next week. and don't worry, i won't go to africa before your classes are done. (her mama told me she was worried ) :)
: : 'leah's lovely cardigan' is finished. except the buttons, which i forgot to look for. for the photos, old mother of pearl ones stood in just fine. my daughter was more than happy to take these of me, when she realized she would be using my camera. thank you honey :)
she had fun playing photographer and she did a wonderful job i think. i had to get new head shots of her today too, her agent requested red hair, so new dye was used. california blondes (her agent said) are too common and don't get work. we'll see and maybe cross our fingers a little too.
: : and after a four month wait, the wool i ordered arrived to my lys (local yarn store) it's tosh dk by madeline tosh, in the colorway, well water. i think the timing turned out to be just right after all. casting on for this tonight, so happy to finally be making it...
: : joining with ginny of small things and all the other lovely yarn alongers here. (can't believe i forgot my book, a part of the yarn along, again.) :)
Not only the cardigan is beautiful (I am envious, I wish I could knit that well!), you are, too, and your daughter, and of course that sweet little girl. And Wilbur, not to forget, how proud he looks! I`d LOVE to join your class, can`t we do a video conference? You are the most beautiful and gentle and encouraging teacher anyone could have.
ReplyDeleteYour daughter did a fantastic job photographing you and I love the completed sweater even more with these photos. I taught five little girls and their mothers to knit a couple years ago and it was great fun. The girls knit shawls for their dolls.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous, gorgeous! I love the colour of your finished cardigan and the beautiful yarn destined for the next. xx
ReplyDeleteWow, Lori it all looks so lovely! The knitting class, your grandchilds divine face with that scarf on her pig?, the sunlight on your cardigav and the new beginnings for the blue yarn - yum! It looks like you are evjoying it ALL. Take precious care Sweet Lori. Love Katie xxx

ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos. Love all the knitting. Good for you passing on your knitting skill. I find it so difficult to teach knitting. I think its because I was self taught and I don't want to hand on my bad habits. The little piggy looks gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteOkay, there are just too many cutie-patooties in one post! YOU (you are beautiful!), that adorable Abby (what an expression!), your gorgeous daughter, and yes, even little Wilbur. Such happiness and love! :))
