hello! how are you? i hope well! all is very good here, a bit of equipment complications, so more iphone photos. thank goodness for the phone! here a few things happening lately...
owl arrived, for a new sweater

loop & leaf, our local yarn store started carrying woolfolk, i think this beautiful fiber would like to be a shawl
early one morning, a couple hours up the coast
my husband and his friend had a new adventure
i was the driver. after dropping them off, they paddled home...
everything went very well, except for one small incident a couple days later, which necessitated (me) driving again, this time on a loooong rural road, at night, in the pitch dark. i was a little unnerved, until i saw this sign :)

i made a pair of socks. these were knit with sport weight, extraordinarily soft, organic merino wool.

DeleteOh that is some scrumptious yarn. I can't wait to use the Woolfolk myself. I am kicking myself for missing the "O" Wool booth at Rhinebeck. I had it on my list! And suddenly...I saw this post and was treated to hearing about many wonderful things that have been going on. Each of the photographs is a gem!

You're a brave lady to have been driving down that dark road on your own. I can understand how that road sign might have lightened up the experience.

Before I forget. About those clogs you are wearing with the pretty stripey socks. I remember your mentioning a particular clog maker way back when, but I don't remember the name. Aren't these the same clogs? It's a weird coincidence that a few weeks ago I was investigating a new pair of shoes and contemplating clogs. And thought of your pair. (Of course, I ended up buying a new pair of Doc Martin oxfords, but am still curious about the clogs.)

the clogs are the same ones (need new shoes!) you can find them at lotta from stockholm. she is swedish but in the uk now (we had some emails so i found this out). i have a had a few pair from other brands (hasbeens) but really like lottas. you can find her here: http://www.lottafromstockholm.co.uk/
i think it's still early for the mag to be on the stands yet, Lonely Planet Traveller is from the uk as well, so we usually are a month behind (it's the november issue), but maybe since you are closer, and fancier being from nyc, hee hee. and you have new docs? you are SO cute.
the kids leave ny thurs. but i still have one son there, and i will always be back, we still need to have lunch. :)

ReplyDeleteA few weeks ago, I saw an art installation that included a hand-scrawled sign that said something like, "if there were no paint or canvases, I would be forced to draw in the dust on the floor with my tongue." :)
Everything you make is just beautiful. I would like to slip a pair of those socks on right now - they look so soft and cozy. Just learning to knit and have a long way to go before I make socks. I'm still in the garter stitch scarf stage. Thank you for all the lovely photos.
