surf days

thank you for the lovely lovely comments on my last post.  please accept my apologies for the large quantities of photos in the last post though, and this one too. so much busyness! saturday and sunday was spent from sunup till sundown at the beach. it was the 30th annual rincon classic, a much loved locals only surf contest. rincon is a world class surf break in our neighborhood, where contests are held regularly (surfers coming from around the globe), so this one for all the hometown boys and girls is a bit special. a community day at the beach! here then, in no special order are photos of cute grandkids, lovely friends, beautiful waves, a favorite surfer surfing (my husband chuck) happy dogs, spectators, tidepools, best of times at the beach...

we were adopted by this peaceful beauty   :)

on saturday chuck made it to first place in his age group, on sunday he advanced to the finals and last night at the awards banquet held at the santa barbara maritime museum, he won second place in his group overall! congratulations honey!

on to another kind of adventure, we're headed to a BIG city...

thursday we'll be in NYC!  xxx lori

Where I work is very near to the fabulous yarn store Purl Soho. Perhaps you will be in that neighborhood during your stay? 1. emma that lab was the picture of tolerance, he seemed to enjoy all the attention and let the children cover him repeatedly (he did recieve lots of hugs and love while having the sand patted on him!) and yes, the grey dog is a herder, such a placid sweet one.
