my poor neglected sweater, there hasn't been a new stitch added in a week. no longer qualified to call myself a monogamous knitter, i somehow have something in the way of six different works in progress right now. i know this is common practice, but i feel decidedly illicit, as if the knitting police is going to show up at my door any moment. luckily i finished one knit last night, and quickly took a few photos this morning, feeling a bit better already...
my first test knit, this is linda's sherpa hat. knit in malabrigo rios, in a deep exquisite blue. a very cute hat!
ravelry notes here
and this. oh this. i've been waiting for a good day to get photos of this wool from luna grey, but making do with foggy photo (more to share later) i cast on. wait, that only makes five projects. better. hee hee.
have you noticed the wood in the above photos? these are boxes i recently found!

ReplyDeletehappy mothers day to you and your mom martha! i bet your husband could make you some boxes, although they look complicated to me, i'm sure a person who knows their way around wood working could do it!

DeleteLooks like we will be cell mates! Guilty as charged. Happy mothers day and safe trip!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat gorgeous WIPs! I agree, having many on the needles feels so naughty, but if none are for deadlines, its quite fun and freeing! LOVE the wooden boxes. Have a wonderful trip and Happy Mother's day to you!
ReplyDeletethat is really the way to look at it sarah, no deadline makes it no pressure! thank you! happy mothers day to you!
Deleteall beautiful as usual Lori! I love the idea of a 60% wool, 40% silk blend, it sounds amazingly soft and cuddly.
ReplyDeleteHappy Mothers Day to you, I'm sure you will be sent much love from your children XXX
thank you alice, such sweet words, and the yarn really is amazing, such a pleasure to work with.
Deleteyour hat turned out beautifully! It was a very quick little knit, wasn't it? I downloaded that shawl as well----debated whether it should also get cast on!! (Oh, Lordy!!!!!!) If I had that wool/silk blend I'm sure I couldn't have resisted! It's beautiful to look at----I can only imagine how lovely it is in hand.
ReplyDeleteLove the boxes!!!!!!
thank you steph! the hat was fun, yours was so pretty, i really liked knitting it. and the shawl should be a two day project for speedy you!
DeleteBeautiful hat! I have been looking for hat patterns for awhile. Just love yours!
ReplyDeletethank you! linda should have it available on ravelry soon, it is a lovely pattern!
Deletei'm falling off the deep end with you lori. i have 3 projects on the needles and feel a bit scatterbrained because of them. i love those boxes! so so cute! have a great trip. i'll be thinking of you. and happy mother's day!
ReplyDeletei thought of you as we drove by (well kind of) what will soon be your new home. let's not cast on anymore till finishing current wip's, okay?! happy mothers day!
DeleteYour sherpa hat is great, it's such a lovely shape. I've joined the KAL also but I don't have such wonderful yarn as you do. Do you buy online or always in shop? I much prefer buying in person as I like to see the 'real' color and feel but the nearest shop is 90km away.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful day.
hi emma, that's great you are in the kal :) i guess it's an even mix, with wool coming in the mail, shops here, and when traveling. the most fun is being in a shop though, i agree!
DeleteHapy Mother's day, Lori! You and the bluea hat are beautiful! I love all your knittings and wish that light blue shawl would be on my needles!
ReplyDeleteOh those wooden boxes - I'm out of words! Amazing!

ReplyDeleteI just bought a skein of that Ayatori in peach tones and can't wait to use it. Do you think we can hand wash it instead of dry clean??
Happy Mother's Day to you!
hi sylvia, i think hand washing would be lovely, i use 'soak' mostly and it does a beautiful job with all natural fibers. thank you for the mother's day wish, happy day to you too!
