UNIFORM IS HERE - Build your own cardigan

'I do it my own self," says Imogen (several times a day for the past 8 months or so).  I'm so proud of her independence!

Well, now I am doing it my own self, too.  I've been feeling quiet about the decision, but I'm ready to share that I have left my full-time position at Quince as Art Director to stay home and have more time with Imogen. Saying it was not an easy decision is an understatement. But I know that it was the right one. My little goose is only little once.

I'll still be working with Quince freelance; we remain best friends forever! But, I'll now have a little time (a little while Immie is at pre-school) to work on Madder and other various projects. So stay tuned!

i'm tickled pink to share with you her new blog and pattern, UNIFORM. i'm really in love with this cardigan, and all the options that are available in the making of it. 

AND i have learned first hand how lovely (and desirable) it is, because you see, the blonde model shown below wearing UNIFORM is my girl!! hannah and carrie met for photos in brooklyn (where my daughter lives) over new years eve.

This pattern gives you knitters a lot of freedom! Pattern includes instructions so you can mix and match the elements: long and short body lengths, three different body shapes (fitted, a-line, or straight), fitted or bell-shaped sleeves, simple or shaped neckbands, and patch or inset pockets.

Longer Version with A-line Waist Shaping, Bell Sleeves, Patch Pockets, Simple Neckband, and Waistband Tie (Shown in Owl by Quince & Co., Tawny):

Subtract 30 yds for no waist shaping
Subtract 60 (60, 70, 85, 90, 100, 115, 120, 125) yds for Fitted Sleeves
Subtract 85 yds if omitting Waistband Tie

Shorter version with Fitted Waist, Fitted Sleeves, and Inset Pockets, and Shaped Neckband (Shown in Shelter by Brooklyn Tweed, Cast Iron):

Add 20 yds for Shorter A-line

• One 32" circular needle in size US 7 [4.5 mm]
• One pair in size US 6 and 7 [ 4 and 4.5 mm]
Gauge
20 sts and 28 rows = 4" in stockinette stitch with larger needle
