follow your arrow

i finished my 'follow your arrow' mystery knit along shawl with ysolda! it's a bit wild, the colors!  but kind of part of the mystery and experimenting, this was SO MUCH FUN! a very first mystery kal for me. suddenly mondays became something extra to look forward to, each clue was released this day, there were five in all. i so enjoyed reading through the threads in the raverly group set up just for this. every week would start the same, jump out of bed, check for the new clue, go to work (thinking about which clue to choose, there were two options within each) and hurry home to begin knitting. i'm going to miss it!

joining with ~ yarn along

lately a lot of fun (and not so much) has been happening. i went wine tasting with good friends again, up to the santa ynez valley, santa barbara's wine country. we met the sweetest puppy at one of the winery's, saw LOTS of ducks in a nearby pond, and found handmade cork ponies.  visited a new to us fantastic restaurant, and i found pom pom yarn! somehow the pom pom's knit right into the fabric, we'll see... the pom pom party continues here. hee hee. the not so fun thing that happened was i've not been feeling well. better now, thankfully. flowers are blooming and birds are singing, clogs are getting broken in :)  it is feeling very much like spring.

  8. Your shawl is lovely. You have convinced me that knit alongs are fun. What are those pink flowers I see? The colour is so vibrant, so un-eastern Ontario right now, so pretty! Also, I want you to know how welcome your last quote was for for me, thank you!

First...I hope you are on the mend. It is no fun at all to not be feeling well. Take good care of you, please.

Second...Your shawl is lovely. Just like sunshine in the winter desert. Did that yarn gradiate from soft brown into light blue? Love it!!!!

    And you, too.

  16. Hi Lori,

I thought something was up, because I missed your posts. Happy to hear you are feeling better!

Sometimes days in which not much happens, can be good ones indeed :-)! Love, love, love your scarf. There is so much detail in it. It looks sort of difficult. Must have been a lot of work! The colour is crazy, but I like it! It will look wonderful with your blond hair!

    Wishing you a happy weekend!

  22. Glad you are feeling better! That is one fun & funky shawl, I'd probably be frozen with indecision on how to move forward if the clues gave me choices. I've een very into gold/mustard and natural lately, there's something about that combo...(hard to wear for me, though). And so many other fun things to look at: pom pom yarn and flowers and green things growing in a vineyard. sigggghhhh.

  28. I love your Arrow Lori! Of all the two-toned ones yours is my favourite. It's the Ombre section that makes it quite unique. I've only just started this knitted on edge on my second Arrow and I think it will take me a while! I really love your clogs! Mel x
