hello! good morning! this is the in progress bressay dress, my 'going to shetland this summer with gudrun johnstone and maryjane mucklestone dress'! a new knit along is just beginning if you have an interest in making the bressay too.
nicole is going to be our moderator, you can find the thread
here. it is such a simple and beautiful pattern, and will be so cozy to wear. keeping with the shetland theme, i ordered
organic shetland wool for a traditional hap shawl, gudrun's
hansel. another kal maybe? would love the company! :)

ReplyDeleteDear Lori, your knitting is as always, inspiring! I am suffering from withdrawals from knitting time, as we are in the throes of family music making (more very soon on my blog will be revealed). What lovely beast are those Qiviuts! I bet their fleece is heaven to knit with. You must be so excited about your trip.

love the tiny stitches and the yoke detail, you will look fabulous at your shetland islands :)
ReplyDeleteHave fun!
ReplyDeleteLori, hoping that by the time I'm typing this you'll have already spotted some of those little foxes!
ReplyDeleteYour sweater dress is going to be perfect for your upcoming Shetland trip. I do love the colors you've chosen, and it's interesting to see how the design grows.
Funny that I am also now in the midst of a fair isle project that's got brown-ish tone. Well, with a touch of pink and blue, too. (I am wondering if my predominant color choice might be a subliminal link to my realizing that Lent is almost over and chocolate is in my near future?)
I did take a look at the Qiviut site ...might have to try some of that yarn someday. The animals are so beautiful.
That scarf pattern looks rather appealing...but I think I better finish what I've got on my plate already.
As always, best wishes. xo
That Bressay is just lovely! I've been wanting to knit Hansel for a long time, maybe I'll join a KAL if it happens (I'm not much of a KAL-er but sometimes...)
ReplyDeleteO my, that's going to be so gorgeous! I signed up for the Shetland trip but had to cancel -- too many other 'irons in the fire' as my mom used to say. I know you'll have a wonderful time & I'm so glad you're going,
ReplyDeleteBlessings & ❤️❤️❤️

I'm so excited for you and your trip, Lori ~ and the dress...I ordered a similar one online and it just wasn't the right fit so back it went ~ I may have to give this pattern a go one of these days :)
ReplyDeleteOH! Stunning. I love it, Lori!
ReplyDeleteIt'll be so fun to sport the same dress on the trip (islanders will think we're crazy!) I hope mine turns out as well as yours is. And a qiviut-shetland shawl? How heavenly!!! It will make an amazing hap!
