hello spring

new seeds came in the post, these from germany.
thank you geli!
my international (potted) garden is growing!

Saturday, March 20, at approximately midnight is the official first day of spring for 2010 in the Northern Hemisphere (Vernal Equinox).

On that day, the Southern Hemisphere observes the Autumnal Equinox, which is the equivalent of the start of Autumn.

to all my friends who are still wishing for spring to appear, i found a little song for you to sing while you wait! happy spring everyone, unless of course it's now autumn for you, and then i want to wish you a happy autumn instead!

  1. Oh my Cat...where did you find nostalgic and current at the same time!

  2. It's softly raining here this morning, which will turn the brown grass green. The temperature has warmed up considerably. I'm going to clean the house ready for some people to view later..... Is this the spring change?

  3. Hi Lori, I`m so glad the seeds arrived! The hollihock (Stockrosen) and Cosmea and Tagetes seeds are taken from our own plants. Hope they will make your garden pretty!

  4. Happy Spring to you, too!
This is one of the first official days of the first day of spring that actually feels like spring here in Maine. It may not last but it is very much appreciated!
    Those seeds look wonderful!

  5. Oooooh more seeds. Soon your garden is going to have more flowers than any field ----- pictures when they're all in flower please

  6. Happy Spring to you Lori and down here?waiting for some refreshment of the Fall season!

    Love to you,

  7. Hi Lori,
How glorious is your garden going to be?? Springtime has all of us excited and invigorated and I am happy to say that spring has come early to my little part of Canada. In a few weeks crocuses will poke through and the tulips will blossom. And on the weekend of May 1st the magnolia tree will be in glorious bloom (for all of 4 or 5 days). Enjoy Lori ... and love the shots.

  8. I'm happy to see buds on my trees and rose bushes. I'm even happier to be able to get out and work in the yard. There's something so rejuvenating about spring!

  9. There's something special about planting flowers from seed and seeing them bloom!

  10. Spring has arrived ... we are off to the beach! Love, Silke

  11. Thanks for the Happy Spring song....but.... I'm in AZ right now so I think I need a Happy Summer song!! : )

  12. I can't wait to see photos of those flowers!

  13. They will be so beautiful.... ahhh!

We are having 31C today, Autumn is a little slow in arriving, but soon it will be low 20's C and superb. My absolute favourite season in Australia. :)xx♥

  14. my autumn is your spring and i imagine that at this point in time we're experiencing very similar weather.

autumn is beautiful here... in the sense that the skies are blue with enough cloud to create gentle days.

flowers bloom and we begin to see more green arrive that summer had burnt away. (but no rain at all)

enjoy sewing seeds and all that they will bring. i hope owen isn't a fan of seedlings as my dog was in his youth.

    much love
    Ribbon xxx

ps... i love what you said about Renee at kj's... you put into words what i believe xx

  15. oh god, lori, i want to sit on my windowsill like this and sing like this and be reflective and beautiful like this.

HAHAHA. okay, i'll settle for the view of cows outside the window.

thanks for this feeling. it made me nostalgically giddy.

ps ♥ happy spring, dear friend ♥ tsup!

  16. Oh jeepers, you do NOT want me to sing. I would scare spring away!

    Lori, Lori,
    In your glory,
    How does your garden grow?

    With seeds from far
    And love from a star
And pretty buds all in a row.

    Happy Spring!

  17. Still waiting... But I've been in Portland for the last few days and their spring has sprung. Beautiful day today.
