my head is filled with words and my camera with images
but they have to stay there for the time being
(i'm bursting at the seams with lots of exciting news)
my laptop, my pal, has gone to hard drive heaven (for good this time i fear)
and taken many of my photos with it.
honestly, from now till the end of my days
i promise to back up as faithfully as i brush my teeth.
it's a bit tricky posting and blog visiting from an ipad
but i'll try (later when i've got a glass of wine in hand and a bit more patience)
computer troubles are so tiring!
i miss all of you and can't wait to see what your up to
have a lovely sunday or monday, if your already there.
♥ lori
Oh Lori,
ReplyDeleteWhen a hard drive goes to heaven it's tough! About six months ago I was having issues and feared mine was on the way out and up ... I use MozyHome now for weekly backup...a few dollars but SO worth it. I will have to invest in a new computer at some point.
Enjoy this lovely Sunday ... cheers!
Happy Sunday :-)

Ps Its a real rain when the hard drive fails :-(
Oh, I am so sorry about your laptop! Makes me think I need to back this one up... It's quite a few years old! I've tried blogging from Daniel's iPad, but it's not very easy I find. Hope you are doing wonderfully!! Much love, Silke
ReplyDeletesorry for the dead computer...I hope you backed up your photos!!!
ReplyDeleteExciting news???? CAN'T WAIT!!!
Don't leave us hanging too long♥
POOP for the hard drive :(
ReplyDeleteYAY!!! for the exciting news to come :)
Lori, I'm happy to go through all of your posts and send your photos to you with the fast right click of my mouse! Just let me know if you'd like me to do that when you get a computer.
I had never ever backed up a file in my life, but I recently bought an HP Simplesave automatic backerupper! If your computer is idle for five minues it automatically backs it up as well as every time you add new images. It has an obscene amount of space, probably enough to last a lifetime. I think it was a hundred dollars. But there are many types out there. I'd say invest in one when you can! I don't even have to do anything (thank goodness) it remembers to do it for me :)
Let me know if I can help in any way.
xoxo
Lo♥
I have blogged from my iPod before so I feel your pain! I have also lost many precious photos from my laptop going to heaven too. Ouch!
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to the news too! xo
you and me babe: you and me both.

oh my...eulogy for a computer. Can't wait to hear the good fun news but I hear ya about posting from iPad - not so great.
ReplyDeletei miss your posts... we should all donate to your new computer fund.
ReplyDeleteAwwww, phooey! My hard drive seems to be on the brink of going forever, too. I use Carbonite.com (they have a Mac version too) for constant remote backup. Something worth looking into.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to hear your good news!
Bursting with news! Can't wait to hear. And thank you for reminding me to back up!
ReplyDeleteYes, Anushka, let`s donate! I will send you some Euros, Lori, can you change them?
ReplyDeleteHi Lori! I can't wait to hear the exciting news! YAY! As for backing up, I am terrible at it. I'm using Mozy (a remote back up utility). At least that way, some of my stuff will be saved if my laptop kicks the bucket. ;) Happy week! xo Pam
ReplyDeleteMiss your pics Lori!
ReplyDeletePerhaps your hard drive can be ribboned, and recovered?
lots of love xx
Sorry about your laptop but excited to hear your news! xoxo
ReplyDeleteSorry about your laptop and your photos, I think there is a lesson for me to learn in this.
ReplyDeletethat's so not fun to have your computer down -- i'm afraid mine's about to going into the shop soon as well - i hope everything goes well and is backed up ok --
ReplyDeletebut i'm excited to hear this news you have to share, so will be waiting.........

hello lori, here i am waving hello and whispering to your computer to behave afterall.
ReplyDeletei just got set up on dropbucket. it stores my novel-ie words and photos remoted for $ 99 a year. of course i can't guarantee i save everything there, so it's not failsafe. i wonder if there are automatic remote back ups?
anyway, i didn't stop by to talk about storage. i just want to send a smile and say yipee to you.
love
kj
oh dear, it's not dropbucket. it's dropbox. :^)
ReplyDeletesince i'm here again, tsup, smooch, and good night ♥
Ugh, I almost murdered mine last week, and luckily I'd backed everything up or I'd be where you are, sipping on wine (and I don't even drink!) Technology and I...agree to disagree... yeah, that's it!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to hear all about the wonderful things going on in your life!
Lori, so sorry to hear about your laptop! Boo. I just returned from my trip and had a lovely, wonderful surprise in the mail from you! Thank you for the beautiful cards and for the feathers! You are a darling love.
ReplyDeleteI hope you get a spanking new wonderful computer, soon!! xoxo
