seven days

thank you so very much for the kind words on the little red cape post ( previous to this), i read and reread each comment several times. filled me up it did
and now, a photo for each of the last seven days here on the cool and cloudy california coast

there was a walk through the marsh, flower finding and bird watching
celebrating a month late, my son's birthday and today, my mother's

there was cheering my grandchildren as they ran in a school fundraiser on the beach,
cooling off with a jump in the ocean after. time spent in my favorite room, my space

looking through our wanderlust book (turned into guest book), looking forward to this upcoming date, can it be six years already?

and this morning making a batch of little quinoa patties for my husband to take on a backpacking trip
(his request). these are so delicious, simple to make, and if you prepare the ingredients beforehand you can make them as wanted. we like to dip ours in plain greek yogurt. recipe here,  i really recommend buying heidi's books, both super natural cooking and super natural everyday. hoping your seven have had a little wonder and a lot of love. lori

  12. Your photos make me hold my breath and my heart flutter. Absolutely dreamy and gorgeous. Happy birthday to your boy and your wonderful mother. That bootie is a treasure.

I think I figured out why I love your creative space so much. Yes, the gentle splashes of color are fantastic. And that corner chair in the sunlight -- fantastic! But what I think I love the most is the white paneling. In college, I lived in a studio apartment with whitewashed paneling, and it just takes me back. :)

  15. What a fast year. It seems I was just congratulating you on your fifth anniversary to your lifeguard.♥

The photos are beautiful and story-filled, as usual. I love the one of your son and his love, and the kids splashing with wild abandon! And how beautiful is that bird blending in with the grey tones of the twigs. Is that a mockingbird?

I love your space too. It suits you, and I always love it when you show little treasures there. It's a cozy, cottagy feeling place.

Happy Anniversary soon, Mrs. Lori ;) You make such a lovely, perfect couple.♥

And birthday blessings to your sweet son, and of course to your dear mom.

Now I'm going back to see Little Red again. That post knocks me out, truly.

Looking forward to your next seven :)

    xoxo

And the red cape from your last post is so adorable -- and the photos are priceless! I made a similar one for one of my granddaughters last fall, and I'm hoping it still fits this year. Isn't it fun making things for the littles in our lives?
    Warmest blessings,

  19. i thought i would leave a comment saying which photo i liked best.

ha! no way! the truest comment i can offer is you are a photographer with expansive soul and abundant talent. the shimmer of the light off the children and the ocean, the beauty and love between a son and his girl, a studio that can belong only to you. a mother's childhood, a husband's bounty.

jeez louise lori. do you know the song by cheryl wheeler "I must have done something right..."? that is how i feel when i am reminded you are my friend.

    love

Those quinoa patties look amazing...I've checked out the recipe and was so pleased to see that they are baked and not fried. I'll definitely be making them, and am now following '101 cookbooks' which was a new blog to me...

    Thank you...

  28. I printed out this recipe just last week to try. In fact I was going to make it last night, but then opted for her Sprouted Garbanzo Burgers instead (using canned chickpeas instead).

What kind of bird is that? Such beautiful grays.
