postcards from here

tucked into a teeny tiny motel, three hours north of home, my oldest daughter kimberly and i are spending some mother~daughter time alone together. for me it's just fun, but for her it's a much needed break. this last week alone she moved, went to school, worked, single parented her two children + her friends two for the week. she was so tired last night she fell asleep mid sentence. this morning she said to me, mama, i didn't even say goodnight! while we are here we plan to do alot of nothing along with walks on the beach, antiquing, eating seafood and sleeping. when i get back home i'll do my best to catch up in my journal here, i've got some exciting things to write!

wish you were here!

  2. Lori: I´ve just got back from my home town trip where I went with my parents and left home Camila and my husband. I stayed in a hotel and rested a LOT!!! That made me feel so great, home chores were left for 3 days , phew, that´s really something!
I hope you two have a great weekend , have fun and enjoy each other these special moments.
    Love to you!

  12. What a wonderful thing for you to do with an exhausted daughter. I put my exhausted daughter on a plane today for ten days in Costa Rica. I sincerely hope she enjoys her time and comes back relaxed. Young people have so much to worry about these days.

  24. lori, would you consider adopting me? does it matter that i am older than you?

that first shot is incredible. it is one of my favorites of all time, i think because it takes me to a motel and time that is safe and colorful. you are an AMAZING photographer and lifeographer. (i made that last word up but it is so true!)

i'm surprised i've arrived here so late. usually i'm itching to leave my 5th comment by now!

i think the relationship between Mothers and their children is worth dying for, and worth living for. i know your kids adore you and it's easy peasy to know why.

    love love
    guess who :)
